and by "pop" I mean popular. The stuff you loved long before it became an overplayed hit.

What Actual am/fm pop songs really work for you even after being saturated on the airwaves over and over again. Name 3.

Mine…

1) Like A Prayer. (madonna)
2) In Your Eyes (peter gabriel)
3) with or without you. (U2)

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm going to make a prediction. "Mr. Pitiful" by Matt Costa will get huge in a little bit. I've loved his stuff for a while. This one is from his newest album, but I like the older stuff better. But "Mr. Pitiful" has been featured on some of the newest iPhone commercials, and I have a feeling that's going to skyrocket its popularity.

Will post again when I've got some pop radio hits that I still enjoy after being raped by mainstream.

I am having more trouble with this than I should… I would say "Let My Love Open the Door" by Pete Townshend, but it came out 5 years before I was born and I think it wouldn't count. Or is it just overplayed radio songs that are still amazing?

"santa monica" by everclear
"semi-charmed life" by third eye blind
"my own worst enemy" by lit
"inside out" by eve 6

basically, the stuff i listened to and loved and was over-played on the radio when i was in high school. these songs are also at the top of my non-ironic karaoke list.

Just went through my music library and picked a few…

"Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla
"Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional
"Slide" by Goo Goo Dolls
"Hound Dog" by Elvis (if that counts, it may have been released before I was born Wink
"Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison (same issue as previous song)

There are others I'm sure.

Uhhh, I really liked Hey Ya! by Outkast. Hahahaha. And Such Great Heights by The Postal Service. I guess I can't really think of anything else because I'm not really in with pop music and the only radio stations I listen to are NPR and a station out of Charlottesville that is hosted entirely by volunteers and they don't play mainstream stuff. I can go by songs that I like that I've randomly heard on commercials… like Of Montreal and Joanna Newsom songs. I dunnnno.

NPR rules, and that volunteer radio station sounds like an awesome concept. They need one of those around here so we can have our own radio show.

Holy crap, suprised you even know that song. I never hear it anymore. Not my fave of his solo work, maybe the most re-played. That album as a whole is great. Rough Boys is the top banana, though.

I'm so old… I recognize the names of most of the bands, but not the names of the songs. I bet I'd know em if I heard em. Youtube/blip links?

another one from me. "turning japanese" by the vapors. I love that song, and that was their "WORST" song. I can (and do) listen to their whole two albums over and over again. Great, clever lyracist, and one of the best bassists to ever hit the airwaves.

When I saw them live in St Louis, the intro'd "turning japanese" as the new hit by REO Speedwagon, as a joke, cause REO is from there. And because they hate that song themselves. haha.

They knew their non-hits/non-singles were much better songs.
