Love Cake, old REM, U2, Poe, etc, but love the snippets you guys play on the show, too. More into independent college type rock, not into pop of any sort. Er, that's why I listen to your show. haha.

looking more for blood pumping stuff, not so much folk rock, singer/songwriter stuff unless they got songs that make me move my butt a bit.

Hmm… college type rock… I'm not sure what's on there, but if they have any of these, check them out:

Dear and the Headlights

Taking Back Sunday

Band of Horses

Butch Walker

Gratitude

Gatsby's American Dream

Bloc Party

Faulter

Northstar

The Juliana Theory

The Kooks

Arcade Fire

Some of them may be what you're looking for, others may be a bit different. If you like some good instrumental rock, check out Explosions In The Sky, Godspeed You Black Emperor, or Mogwai.

I absolutely second The Kooks and The Klaxons. Keeping with uk-rock, not that they are "unknowns" or anything, but Arctic Monkeys and Fratellis are both pretty amazing. If you don't know either of them, please please please check them out. Very fun, rocky, and danceable.

(I did check and they don't really have anything by Fratellis on emusic, but they have Arctic Monkeys' first album, with is really great.)

Just picked up The Gaslight Anthem album from emusic. If you like Bruce Springsteen-esque music, you'll most likely enjoy these guys. I'm not a huge fan of Bruce, but I think that's mainly because of his voice. These guys are a sort of updated, modern version. Similar to The Hold Steady as well.

Oooh, would love arctic monkeys, and Springsteen was my first concert EVER. Er, Born To Run tour. Yeah. I'm old. (but if it helps I was 13 at the time and a John Denver, Olivia Newton John fan at the time). Surprised

Damn, emusic won't let get cake as free download. Got some Elbow though. Which is fine, cause I usually stick my elbow in my cake anyway. haha. Now to look for your other recs….

So, I let the free download lapse. Now I can get Cake now that it's a paid thang. Cool. Still got a few random songs to find. I might keep it, though. Especially if keeping it helps MoM. I'll decide next month when it lapses again, haha.

(I do legit like the site and service, though.)

Awesome. Both DanB and I also forgot about canceling before the trial was up, so we got some more songs. (They always get ya with the free trial, and most people forget to cancel).

I also like the site and service. They do a pretty good job of recommending stuff I might like based on what I downloaded. Let us know if you find anything good on there that maybe we can talk about on the show. And just to get into regardless of whether it's on the show or not. I'm always up for new music.

So, got a whole cake album. Still got 13 songs, and maybe 10 more if I rate songs, (according to an email I got yesterday)

Everyone is talking about Kings of Leon, and they got some of their older stuff. Should I? If so which songs….

Meanwhile, I'll go check out stuff from the lists above.
