List of eligible here.

But remember, inductees can be older than that. Any from that year or earlier not yet inducted that you think should be? Any missing from their lists?

My thoughts:

Lock:
Pouges
Red Hot Chili Peppers

Possible:
Jesus and Mary Chain
Bronski Beat
The Cult

Maybe, if they got the cahones:
Spinal Tap

(and maybe MessOfMusic should start it’s own, for strictly independent, and/or underground bands with just a ten year limit?)

Absolutely, %100 yes on The Pouges.

The Chili Peppers will get in eventually, without question.

Spinal Tap would be epic.

Thumbs up to Nick Cave.

Ones that are long overdue:

Joe Cocker
Lou Reed
The Stooges (we mentioned this one last year)
Cat Stevens
George Thorogood
Jim Croce
Tom Fucking Waits
Ringo (mostly because the other 3 were all individually inducted)

HOLY CRAP, lou reed isn't in? Are you CEREAL??? and more important, are they?

and actually, I agree with all the others, too. Kinda stunned at most of them, especially Croce and Waits and Cat Stevens.

actually, I'm having second thoughts on the Pouges and the Peppers. If they aint put Lou Fucking Reed in yet, they could easily wait on those two. And they better put in RIngo before they put in Julian Lennon, (though I like lennon Jr, who is elligible this year, (which makes me feel really really old) but he was just a one hit wonder.)

THAT'S WHAT I SAID!!

And for the record, I'm not imying The Pouges are a lock for this year. More often than not, they wont put people into the hall of fame the first year they are eligible. Same goes for RHCP. Hell, they waited until the 3rd year they were open to induct The Beatles. Ricky effing Nelson was inducted before they were.

OUCH. Ricky Nelson and not even CROCE! sure he was more folk/singer-songwriter, but friggen time in a bottle, and bad bad leroy brown?

Makes me want them to put Olivia Newton John in, just to show us they are pussies.

I think we do need to do something about this. Make a couple predictions, and maybe do our own Indie/Alt/Punk/Ska Hall of Fame as suggested. Does anyone else find it weird that Neil Young was inducted on his solo career BEFORE Buffalo Springfield? I find that odd.

I agree with Dan on your list of long overdue inductees. Not so much Ringo though, he's only had a couple hits and I don't think they got quite as big as the others.

As far as that list posted by badger goes — The Pogues, Steve Perry, Steve Vai

Also, Ozzy Osbourne's solo career isn't in yet, and it probably should be, as well as The Smiths and Stevie Ray Vaughan (they were eligible last year).

Should we start a new thread for MoM's Hall of Fame, complete with a list of nominees? This could make for an amazing episode…
