I don't know if anyone here has checked it out yet or not, but definitely watch the interview with Sarah Saturday (aka Gardening, Not Architecture) posted on our YouTube channel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..yX2Z-ZZeVs
I just wanted to see what everyone thought of it. The DIY attitude and the Earn It Yourself site are really cool. There's definitely a lack of this kind of attitude in today's music industry. In my opinion, I think a lot of it has to do with the "get famous" attitude of the artists these days.
The fact that it doesn't seem like a lot of popular bands (especially those doing the electronic/screamo that's running rampant) aren't creating music for the passion of music, but because it's something they do to imitate their favorite bands. It kind of sucks. And I feel that's also the reason bands don't last very long or stay in the spotlight for more than a year or two. Because they don't have the passion, and it's only a (short) matter of time before a new band doing the same thing comes along and people jump on their bandwagon.
Anyone have thoughts about this?
On a completely unrelated note: this forum looks pretty dated. It may need a facelift soon. Also, a full proper episode is coming soon, with pieces of these interviews included. And a new studio in the near future as well (hopefully).
